Last Thursday, Jean-Marie Smets attended IBM Café, organized by TD SYNNEX.

This year’s event took place at Brouwerij Timmermans in Itterbeek and proved to be one of the most insightful and inspiring IBM Café editions in recent memory.

A key focus of the day was IBM’s most recent acquisitions, including HashiCorp and WebMethods. Both are strategic additions to the IBM portfolio, strengthening its capabilities in integration and automation across IBM and non-IBM environments.

HashiCorp is best known for Terraform, a leading solution for Infrastructure as Code. In addition, it adds extra layers of security automation through technologies such as Vault. WebMethods, on the other hand, supports advanced automated integration with other environments, helping organizations connect systems and processes more efficiently.

The day ended with a tour of the brewery and, of course, a delicious Timmermans beer.
